Morgan Hunt currently requires a Shift Lead Technician (Mechanical or Electrical) for NHS based in Central London.
- Pay Rate: £22.00ph Ltd - Weekdays / £28.60ph Ltd Nights Weekday / Sat All Day / £33.00ph Ltd Sun All Day
- Hours: 12hrs shifts 4 on 4 off 07:00am to 19:00pm & 19:00pm to 07:00am Days & Night
- Location: Central London
- Duration: 6 months ongoing contract
Main Purpose of the Job: The Shift Lead is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership, coordination and technical supervision of the Shift Maintenance Team, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical systems, plant, equipment, and building infrastructure across the Trust.
The candidate will be a multi-skilled technician, trained across both electrical and mechanical disciplines, with enhanced capability, experience, and leadership skills enabling them to:
- Lead and direct Shift Engineers during allocated duty periods.
- Oversee and quality-check technical work carried out by the shift team.
- Act as the first point of escalation for technical issues, risk, safety concerns, and operational decisions during the shift.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, HTMs, HBNs, BS7671, Trust safety policies, and permit controls.
Systems include: CHP and Boiler plant, HVAC, electrical distribution, fire detection, BMS, standby generators, chillers and basic refrigeration, nurse call systems, and basic lift care.
