Our client is a leading architectural firm specialising in designing innovative and sustainable environments for the Health & Science sectors. They have over 30 staff in their business, and plan to be at 50 in the next few years given recent success in the market.
As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, delivery, and strategic direction of high-profile healthcare, laboratory, and research facilities. You will be involved in every phase of the project life cycle, from conceptual design to completion, ensuring that the highest standards of functionality, sustainability, and innovation are met. They expect this appointment to progress into an Associate level position within the firm.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the design and delivery of complex healthcare and science projects, from inception through to completion.
- Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Oversee the production of architectural designs and technical documentation, ensuring quality and accuracy.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level architects, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, understanding their needs and translating them into exceptional design solutions.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Contribute to the development of design strategies and innovation in the health and science sectors.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards related to healthcare and scientific facility design.
- Contribute to the business by way of assisting with winning new work.
- RIBA (or equivalent) qualified Architect with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the design and delivery of health & science facilities.
- Proven experience in managing large, complex projects, including healthcare, laboratory, or research facilities.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory and technical standards specific to healthcare and science architecture.
- Excellent design, leadership, and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- A passion for innovation, sustainability, and improving the built environment in the health & science sectors.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The client is open on the salary, but expects it to be around Β£40-45k.
