I am currently recruiting for a Project Officer for a period of 3-6 months to support the delivery of a new build affordable housing programme. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will play a key role in taking projects from early site identification through to completion and handover, helping to deliver high-quality homes that meet local housing needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of new build housing projects from inception to completion
- Liaise with internal departments, statutory authorities, developers, and housing colleagues
- Ensure developments align with housing need, local development plans, and strategy
- Assist in procurement, appointment, and management of design teams and contractors
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial viability
- Prepare and submit grant funding bids and manage reporting via relevant systems
- Attend and contribute to design team and site meetings
- Support handover of completed developments
- Manage defect periods and ensure issues are resolved within agreed timescales
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory guidance
- Contribute to continuous improvement through post-project reviews
- Prepare reports for senior management and elected members
About You
Essential Requirements
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
- Experience delivering new build projects from inception to completion
- Strong understanding of construction processes and relevant legislation
- Experience working with budgets, financial monitoring, and performance targets
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Qualification in construction, project management, planning, architecture, quantity surveying, or similar
- Experience within a social housing environment
- Knowledge of Scottish Government grant funding requirements
- Experience in procurement of construction works and services
