Overview: Learning Support Assistant role in the Epping Forest area, supporting students within classroom settings and contributing to a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- To provide effective support for individual or groups of students in a classroom setting covering a range of levels and subjects.
- To identify opportunities for the student(s) to work independently where appropriate, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times; at such times to support other students in the classroom as appropriate.
- To keep accurate records of the support provided and the students' progress and attendance, monitoring if adjustments are consistently made in class.
- To encourage the student(s) to interact with others and engage in activities led by the lecturer.
- To assist with the general pastoral care of the student(s).
- Provide support for students' emotional and social needs by encouraging and modelling positive behaviour in line with the College's Behaviour Policy, and demonstrating high expectations of work and behaviour.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience supporting students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
