Morgan Hunt are looking for a skilled floor layer in the Canterbury area to join a Responsive Repairs team, carrying out high-quality flooring repairs and installations in occupied properties (social housing) and communal areas. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll work across a range of flooring types, ensuring residents receive a first-class service and a high standard of work every time.

What you'll be doing:

  • Installing, repairing and replacing a variety of flooring including vinyl, laminate, carpet tiles and safety flooring.
  • Preparing and levelling subfloors to ensure a quality finish.
  • Carrying out floor preparation works, including latex screeds and smoothing compounds.
  • Completing repairs safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Responding to urgent and emergency repair requests when required.
  • Maintaining accurate job records using mobile working technology.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and keeping residents informed throughout the works.
  • Working closely with other trades to provide effective repair solutions.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Floor Layer within a maintenance, construction or repairs environment.
  • Strong knowledge of vinyl, laminate, carpet tiles and safety flooring installation.
  • Experience in floor preparation and subfloor repairs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Basic plumbing and carpentry skills.
  • Experience working within a responsive repairs environment.
  • Relevant trade qualifications.
