We are looking for an Assessor/Trainer in Plumbing and Gas to join our busy, high-performing Construction Department in Cambridge. This is a chance to use your industry expertise to shape the next generation of skilled professionals while working in a supportive, forward-thinking team.
You will lead a caseload of apprentices, guiding them through every stage of their programme and helping them build the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to thrive. Your coaching and assessment will play a vital role in ensuring they are fully prepared for a confident, successful End Point Assessment.
What you'll do:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality training, coaching and support
- Carry out workplace assessments and progress reviews
- Monitor, track and record apprentice progress with accuracy and clarity
- Prepare apprentices thoroughly for End Point Assessment
- Build strong, professional relationships with employers across the region
- Contribute to business development and employer engagement activity
- Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations and Health & Safety
- Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation and records
This role offers agile working, blending on-site delivery, workplace visits and remote administrative work from home.
What you'll bring:
- A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Plumbing
- Strong, relevant industry experience
- Assessor and/or IQA qualifications (desirable)
- Experience teaching or assessing (desirable)
- Solid understanding of Apprenticeship Standards and EPA requirements
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence using digital systems and tools
- Flexibility, professionalism and a collaborative approach
