We are looking for an organised and proactive Governance Administrator & Executive Assistant to join a charity supporting people experiencing homelessness and helping young people build a brighter future.

  • Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, 37.5 hours per week (30-minute lunch) hybrid working

About the Role

You will provide administrative and executive support to the Governance and Executive Teams, including the Chief Executive and Board.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinating meetings, diaries, agendas and meeting papers.
  • Preparing Board and Committee documentation.
  • Taking accurate minutes and maintaining action logs.
  • Maintaining governance records and documentation.
  • Supporting Board activities and meetings.
  • Providing general governance, compliance and administrative support.
  • Managing confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Working closely with senior leaders and internal teams to ensure actions and deadlines are followed.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a senior administration or Executive Assistant role.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience taking minutes for Board, Committee or senior-level meetings.
  • Experience coordinating meetings, diaries, agendas and meeting papers.
  • Level 3 qualification/A Levels or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, Teams and/or Zoom.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and use initiative.
  • Understanding of good governance and meeting management.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Desirable Experience

  • Charity or voluntary sector experience.
  • Experience within homelessness or housing services.
  • Public-sector experience.
  • Experience working with Board or Committee structures.
  • Experience supporting or working with young people.
  • Relevant qualification or degree in Governance, Business Administration or Management.
