About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced
Maths Lecturer to join a Further Education college on a temporary basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Maths teaching to FE learners, supporting their academic development and helping them achieve their qualifications.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Maths Lecturer who enjoys working with students from diverse backgrounds and is committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across relevant FE programmes and levels.
- Teach GCSE, Functional Skills and/or vocational Maths as required.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching materials and assessments.
- Assess learners' work and provide constructive feedback to support their progress.
- Monitor learner attendance, achievement and development.
- Provide additional support to learners who require help with Maths.
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress and assessment.
- Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and other teaching staff.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
- Promote equality, diversity, safeguarding and learner wellbeing within the college.
Requirements
- Relevant degree or recognised qualification in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Teaching qualification such as
PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent is desirable/required depending on college requirements.
- Previous experience teaching Maths within Further Education, sixth form, adult education or a similar setting.
- Experience delivering
GCSE Maths and/or Functional Skills Maths .
- Strong knowledge of Maths curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication, classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate learners with varying levels of ability.
- Commitment to safeguarding and creating an inclusive learning environment.
