Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting young people with additional and complex needs?
We are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Learning Support Assistant to join the Skills for Life department of a Further Education college in the Wirral.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students to develop their independence, confidence and life skills within a college environment.
The role will involve working closely with students who have a range of additional and complex needs, providing both educational and practical support throughout the college day.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students within the Skills for Life department.
- Support students with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities and complex needs.
- Assist students to access their learning, activities and the wider college environment.
- Encourage students to develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.
- Provide support with communication, social interaction and emotional wellbeing where required.
- Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure students receive appropriate support.
- Support students during practical activities, trips and wider college activities.
- Provide personal care support where required, including assistance with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing and other aspects of daily living.
- Follow individual support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
