Morgan Hunt are working with a UK wide consultancy to recruit a Structural Engineer to join their Building Structures team in Glasgow.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer with around two years' post-graduate experience to develop their career within a well established engineering consultancy.
You will work on a portfolio of building structures projects across the residential, commercial and retail sectors, supporting the design and delivery of projects from concept through to construction.
Working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will gain exposure to all stages of project delivery while continuing to develop your technical and professional skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and delivery of structural engineering projects from feasibility through to construction.
- Undertake structural analysis and design for a variety of building structures using steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.
- Prepare structural calculations, technical reports and design specifications.
- Work closely with Structural Technicians to develop coordinated drawings and BIM models.
- Attend design team meetings and undertake site visits and inspections as required.
- Ensure designs comply with current UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes and relevant industry standards.
- Manage your workload effectively across multiple projects while meeting programme and quality requirements.
- Continue to develop technical knowledge and work towards professional chartership.
Key Requirements
- BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Experience working on building structures projects.
- Good understanding of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber.
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Robot Structural Analysis or similar.
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Eurocodes.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience delivering residential, commercial and retail developments.
- Working towards Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
