A very successful independent MEP & Sustainability consultancy with a strong presence across the UK. A premium brand in the industry, with a solid track record of project delivery across sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Data Centres, Leisure and more. They are currently seeking an experienced mechanical candidate at either Principal or Associate Engineer level to join their modern, open plan Glasgow city centre office.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the design and development of mechanical building systems including HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, and domestic water services.
- Prepare engineering calculations, system layouts, equipment sizing, and technical specifications.
- Support senior engineers in delivering projects from concept design through detailed design and construction stages.
- Manage client relationships on assigned projects.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and surveys to assess existing systems and monitor installation works.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and external consultants.
- Ensure designs comply with local building codes, standards, and sustainability requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services.
- 5-10+ years' experience in mechanical building services design (depending on seniority level).
- Proven experience delivering HVAC and public health systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, education, or mixed-use projects.
- Strong understanding of local and international building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
- Experience working through all project stages: concept, detailed design, tender, and construction.
- Experience in reviewing contractor submittals, shop drawings, and commissioning processes.
