A global organisation is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis to work at their site in Fareham.
Working in a high technology environment the Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for shaping the architecture and technical direction of the clients portfolio of products. The selected candidate will work very closely with Product and Project Management to turn new concepts and customer driven features into clear, actionable specifications that guide development from the very start.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working as part of a small team of Technical Leaders across all product disciplines
- Working closely with Product and Project Managers to provide technical insight at the early stage of projects
- Providing expertise to both NPI and initiative-based projects
- Creating product specifications to ensure new features, standards and compliance requirements are captured at the outset of projects
- Using systems engineering / architecture knowledge to ensure the coordinated introduction of features across multiple product development streams
- Evaluating emerging technologies, monitoring competitive trends, and identifying both risks and opportunities that inform long-term system development
About You:
In order to be considered for this position candidates need to have proven systems engineering / systems architecture experience gained from an engineering environment. In addition to this candidates need to have demonstrable experience working cross functionally to deliver complex NPI projects as well as a solid grasp on modern requirement management and definition principles.
It would be advantageous to have knowledge / experience in any of the following areas:
- Working across network systems, software solutions or embedded hardware products
- Communication networks such as CAN, Ethernet, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth etc.
- A formal qualification in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Systems Engineering or a closely related subject
