We are looking for an inspiring Head of Software to lead a high-impact, multi-disciplinary software function for a global technology business in Hampshire. You will take ownership of a 70-strong engineering organisation, leading through 7 senior managers, and shape the strategy and delivery of a diverse portfolio spanning embedded and application software in a fast-paced, product-driven environment. This is a rare opportunity to influence the direction of innovative, safety-critical and performance-driven technology at scale.
The role:
- Lead and develop a department of ~70 software engineers across global and offshore teams
- Set the technical vision and engineering strategy across the business
- Drive improvements in software quality, reliability, performance and maintainability
- Work closely with Product, Hardware, Mechanical and wider R&D teams to deliver end-to-end products
- Strengthen engineering processes and agile delivery
- Own the software budget and ensure strong value for money
