A leading technology manufacturer is seeking a Senior Electronics Buyer to own procurement for PCBs, PCBAs and electronic components. This role blends commercial strategy with hands-on technical involvement, influencing engineering decisions and strengthening a global supply chain.
This is a role split between supporting NPI projects; sourcing new components from international suppliers as well as managing ongoing suppliers and component shortage challenges.
What You’ll Do- Lead commodity strategy aligned with technology roadmaps, cost targets and project timelines
- Select and manage suppliers globally, negotiating competitive pricing and terms
- Track component risk, EOL issues and obsolescence using industry tools
- Review BOMs with Engineering to ensure long-lifecycle, low-risk component choices
- Source hard-to-find/obsolete parts while maintaining strict counterfeit controls
- Drive NPI readiness, from cost negotiation to production process qualification
- Lead value engineering, supplier resourcing and quality improvement projects
- Oversee supplier quality performance, issue resolution and continuous improvement
We are looking for someone with a strong background in electronics procurement and a solid understanding of PCBs, PCBAs, semiconductors and components. Proven negotiation and supplier management skills are also required and a CIPS qualification is highly desirable.
Benefits and Hours37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 4 days on site, 1 from home. Annual bonus, healthcare, defined pension scheme, electric car scheme. Opportunity for international travel.
