A leading UK manufacturing business in a highly regulated industry is looking for an

EHS Lead to drive best‑in‑class environmental, health and safety performance at their site near Bury.

You will play a key role in shaping culture, behaviours and compliance across the site to ensure “Everybody Home Safe Forever.”

The Role

Lead and develop a small EHS team, support strategic direction, and champion continuous improvement across all EHS processes.

A core part of the role is ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and internal standards while coaching colleagues to embed strong safety behaviours.

The company is part way through a EHS program so there is significant room to make improvements and have autonomy.

Focus areas will include both behavioural safety and process safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop two direct reports through coaching, guidance and leadership.
  • Drive EHS culture maturity and support employees through change.
  • Lead evaluations of compliance with legal and other requirements.
  • Support external audits and regulatory site visits.
  • Coach colleagues to ensure incidents are fully investigated with robust corrective actions.
  • Contribute to EHS performance reporting, trend analysis and lessons‑learned sharing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
  • Role Requirements
  • NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma (or NEBOSH Certificate working towards Diploma).
  • Experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental advisory role within a manufacturing or process role
  • Strong knowledge of UK EHS legislation.
  • Understanding of ISO 14001 & 45001 (desirable)
  • Proven ability to influence culture and drive behavioural change.
  • Strong prioritisation skills and the confidence to act as an independent thinker.
