A growing manufacturing business in Burton-on-Trent is looking for a Finance Assistant to join its friendly, high-performing finance team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone studying AAT or newly qualified, who wants hands-on experience across management accounts, payroll, reporting and wider business operations. What Youll Be Doing

  • Supporting the Financial Controller and working closely with a small finance team
  • Preparing month-end accounts, journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Producing monthly reporting packs for the Group
  • Maintaining the CapEx project ledger
  • Assisting with inventory reconciliations including intercompany stock and average costing
  • Helping analyse production variances
  • Preparing the monthly payroll and supporting weekly payroll
  • Managing pension contributions and payments
  • Approving employee expenses via Concur
  • Overseeing the HR system administration
  • Supporting the annual budget process
  • Assisting with year-end audit
  • Administering the UK vehicle fleet
  • Helping prepare and authorise supplier payment runs
  • Supporting sales and purchase ledger, cashbook, intercompany transactions and recharges
  • Getting involved in future projects, including a major ERP implementation
