We are looking for a skilled Utilities & Facilities Plant Technician to join a busy engineering team for a manufacturing organisation based in Loughton. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role where you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site utilities and facility systems. You will work across key services such as effluent treatment, compressed air, chilled water, and specialist production support systems.
Shift: 24/5 shift pattern (mixture of days and nights), Monday to Friday, 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and fault-find across site utilities (compressed air, chilled water, effluent treatment, water systems)
- Support building services including ventilation, lighting, and environmental controls
- Ensure compliance with H&S and environmental regulations (PUWER, LOLER, COSHH)
- Complete PPMs, inspections, and maintenance documentation
- Drive continuous improvement, reliability, and energy efficiency initiatives
About You:
- Time-served apprentice or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
- Strong hands-on maintenance and fault-finding experience
- Background in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Experience with utilities systems (e.g. HVAC, pumps, compressors) is essential
- Knowledge of water treatment, chemical systems, or CMMS is advantageous
