Management Accountant (12 months Fixed Term Contract)

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Technical Ceramics business in Stourport.
This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional with manufacturing experience who is looking to take ownership of site financial reporting while partnering closely with operational teams to drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and site financial reporting.
- Post month-end journals and support month-end close activities.
- Analyse spend and budget variances, identifying opportunities for corrective action.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow forecasting processes.
- Maintain and develop the standard costing system.
- Monitor inventory accounting, stock valuation and cost variances.
- Provide financial insight to production and engineering teams.
- Drive working capital improvements and support cost-saving initiatives.
- Support Capex planning, justification and monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, company policies and reporting requirements.
- Partner with site leadership to provide meaningful financial analysis and recommendations.
About You
We are looking for someone who can combine strong financial skills with a hands-on approach and the confidence to influence stakeholders across the business.
You will ideally have
- Experience as a Management Accountant, Cost Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or similar.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting and variance analysis.
- Budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.
Qualifications
- Studying towards a CIMA qualification (or similar accountancy qualification).
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar manufacturing finance role.
