Engineering Manager

Morgan Advanced Materials is a global leader in advanced materials, employing around 8,000 people across 70 sites in 18 countries. Our Technical Ceramics business develops high-performance ceramic solutions used in some of the world's most demanding applications.
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function at our Stourport site, ensuring equipment, facilities and infrastructure operate safely, reliably and efficiently to support the manufacture of high-quality technical ceramic products.
The Role
As Engineering Manager, you will lead and develop the site engineering team while driving reliability, performance and continuous improvement across a complex manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for maintenance strategy, capital projects, asset reliability, engineering budgets and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing the engineering team through coaching, performance management and succession planning.
* Managing planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
* Driving equipment reliability and reducing downtime through continuous improvement initiatives.
* Leading engineering and capital investment projects from concept through commissioning.
* Managing engineering budgets, contractors, suppliers and critical spares.
* Supporting production, quality and operational teams to achieve business objectives.
* Ensuring compliance with engineering, health and safety and statutory requirements.
About You
You will bring:
* Significant engineering leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of maintenance management, asset reliability and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Experience leading engineering teams and developing technical talent.
* A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.
* Knowledge of UK engineering health and safety legislation and best practices.
* Experience within ceramics, high-temperature processing, heavy manufacturing or process industries would be advantageous.
* Chartered Engineer status, or progress towards chartership, would be desirable.
