Essential Requirements

Qualifications and Training:

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Degree

Experience:

  • Successful senior leadership and management experience ina secondary school.
  • Teaching experience
  • Involvement in school self-evaluation and developmentplanning, with evidence of improving provision, outcomes, student experience orprogression.
  • Demonstrable experience of successful line management and staffdevelopment

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of curriculum design, implementationand evaluation, including the ability to support subject leaders to developambitious, well-sequenced provision.
  • Understanding of high-quality teaching, and the ability to modelthis for others and support others to improve
  • Strong knowledge of personal development, PSHE, careerseducation, enrichment, student leadership and preparation for adulthood.
  • Understanding of post-16 pathways, including academic,vocational and foundation routes, and the ability to develop provision inpartnership with other schools and Trust leaders.
  • Understanding of school finances and financial management
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others
  • Ability to build effective working relationships
