Job Outline and Responsibilities
- Observe the children during active play sessions in relation to the EYFS.
- Plan activities to enhance the play experiences for individual key children and monitor children’s
- development across all areas of learning.
- Using a range of observations, photographs, examples of children’s work and information from parents, compile a ‘Learning Journey’ book for each key child.
- Maintain a two way flow of information between themselves and parents, keeping parents informed of any issues regarding their child; encouraging parents to play a part in their child’s learning and development.
- Assist with preparation of resources.
- Create visually stimulating and interactive room displays.
- Assist with the pastoral care of children.
- Any other task within the reasonable scope of the role under the direction of your line manager.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Hold a current First Aid certificate (desirable).
Experience
- Working in nurseries with a range of EYFS pupils and knowledge of the
- An understanding of, and commitment to, the protection and safeguarding
- of children.
- Working in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Knowledge of Letters and Sounds.
- Working as a Key Person.

- Kind, caring and compassionate nature.
- Good level of interpersonal skills, including developing good relationships
- with children, parents and staff.
- Understanding of the need for confidentiality.
- Must be well organised and well presented.
