We are a busy GP Practice of medium size based in Moreton on the Wirral, with a list size of 13,250 patients. We have a well-established team which we are looking to enhance further. The successful applicant must be flexible, able to work under pressure, and enjoy working within a team. A good standard of education and previous experience of working in a GP surgery or in a customer-facing role would be advantageous.
We are looking for a proactive and organised Administrator to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the smooth running of the practice and ensuring effective communication between primary care, secondary care, and wider community services.
Key Responsibilities:- Opening, sorting, and scanning incoming post received from secondary care and ensuring it is accurately uploaded to the clinical system.
- Acting as a key point of contact between clinical staff in the practice and colleagues in secondary care, hospitals, and other community agencies.
- Managing queries efficiently and directing information to the appropriate clinicians or teams.
- Ensuring all administrative tasks are carried out accurately and in a timely manner to support high-quality patient care.
- Maintaining confidentiality and following information governance procedures at all times.
- Strong IT skills, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
- Confident using computer systems and able to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clinical and non-clinical staff.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Explaining the practice procedures to new patients.
- Dealing with all requests in an efficient and courteous manner.

About us: Moreton Group Practice has a clinical team consisting of GPs, three ANPs, five practice nurses, and three HCAs. They are supported by a large admin team comprising Medical Secretaries, Medicines Managers, and Administrators. We are a friendly team passionate about providing excellence in care to our patients. We are based over two sites, and the role will require working over both, which are within walking distance of each other. We were rated 'Good' at our last CQC inspection and are high achievers in QOF and other enhanced services.
The role is a key position, being the first point of call to all patients and visitors. You will be working as part of a medium-sized team ensuring that the Care Navigation Team runs smoothly. You will be supported by an Office Manager.

- Answering all incoming calls from patients on a daily basis.
- Dealing with any requests from patients face to face.
- Issuing prescriptions.

- Possess some experience within a medical or NHS environment (not essential).
