The Opportunity
As Assistant Grower, you'll support the growing team in the day-to-day management of commercial protected crops, helping to optimise plant health, productivity and quality. You'll assist with crop monitoring, irrigation and nutrition management, yield forecasting, crop registration and pest and disease assessments while working closely with colleagues across the operation. This is a varied and hands-on role that combines practical growing responsibilities with data analysis and technical decision-making. You'll play an important role in ensuring growing plans are delivered effectively while continually developing your own skills and knowledge. No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work with advanced growing technology while learning from experienced industry professionals.
About You
We're looking for someone with a passion for horticulture and a genuine desire to build a long-term career in commercial growing. You'll ideally bring: Experience within protected cropping, nursery production or a commercial growing environment. Strong organisational and planning skills. Good attention to detail and an analytical mindset. Confidence using technology and data to support decision-making. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks. Ambition to progress into a Grower position over time.
Desirable Qualifications
PA1, PA6 and PA9 certifications. Forklift Truck Licence. Horticultural qualification or relevant industry experience. Experience with climate control and irrigation systems such as Priva. Strong IT skills, including Excel and production reporting systems.
