We are recruiting a Compliance Technologist to support the Technical & Compliance function within a fresh produce packing and distribution environment. This is a hands-on, site-based role that works closely with operational teams to maintain and improve food safety, quality, health & safety, and environmental standards across the site.
You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with legal, customer, and certification requirements, including BRCGS, while helping to embed a strong food safety and compliance culture throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities- Support and maintain the Quality Management System in line with BRCGS, legal, and customer requirements.
- Carry out routine quality and compliance checks across intake, packing, storage, and dispatch.
- Support HACCP systems, including risk assessments, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Assist with internal audits, traceability exercises, mock recalls, and verification activities.
- Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and product quality issues.
- Support shelf-life testing, intake inspections, and ongoing quality monitoring.
- Ensure hygiene and food safety standards are consistently met across site operations.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Support BRCGS audits, customer visits, and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain accurate compliance records, logs, and reports.
- Support equipment calibration, verification, and validation activities.
- Experience or working knowledge of food safety and quality systems within food manufacturing or fresh produce.
- Practical understanding of HACCP principles and risk assessment.
- Awareness of BRCGS Food Safety Standard requirements.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and GMP.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence managing technical documentation.
- Ability to work effectively with operational and production teams.
- Internal Auditor qualification or audit experience.
- Experience supporting customer audits and managing corrective actions.
- Environmental or sustainability awareness.
- Experience within fresh produce or FMCG environments.
- Familiarity with customer technical portals and specification systems.
- HACCP Level 3 preferred (Level 2 minimum with willingness to progress).
- Food Safety Level 3 preferred (Level 2 minimum).
- Internal Auditor training desirable.
- Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or similar desirable).
- Environmental awareness training desirable.
