Our client is a well established, family run agricultural business that serves farmers across South West England. With a reputation built on trust, integrity, and long term relationships, they supply a full range of agricultural inputs alongside practical agronomic advice tailored to each farm's specific needs.

As the business continues to grow, they are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Agronomist to join their friendly and experienced team. Covering the Somerset area, you will take over a number of existing accounts and be responsible for developing new business relationships across the region. They are looking for someone with a great understanding of agronomy - whether you're a qualified agronomist or in another area such as farm management and looking to move into the agronomy sector.

What you will be doing:

  • Take over a number of existing accounts and maintain strong, trusted client relationships.
  • Provide on farm agronomic advice, including crop planning, soil health, pest and disease management, and nutrient strategies.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the region.
  • Recommend and support the sale of agricultural inputs, including seed, fertiliser, and crop protection products.
  • Conduct field assessments, soil sampling, and analysis to guide recommendations.
  • Keep detailed records and ensure timely communication and follow ups with clients.
  • Stay current with industry developments, compliance regulations, and product innovations.

What you need:

  • BASIS and FACTS qualifications (or a willingness to work towards them).
  • Proven experience in agronomy, crop advisory, technical agricultural sales or farm management.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Commercial acumen with a proactive approach to business development.
  • Self motivated and organised, with the ability to work independently across a defined territory.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel within the region.
