A major UK food manufacturer is looking for an Engineering Team Lead to take control on shift, lead a crew of mechanical, electrical, and multi-skilled engineers, and make sure production keeps moving without chaos. You’ll report to the Shift Manager, deputise when needed, and be the person people actually listen to when machines break.
What you’ll actually do:
- Lead and coach your team without losing your mind.
- Ensure Health & Safety isn’t just a poster on the wall (COSHH included).
- Train staff on machines and make sure visiting engineers don’t leave chaos behind.
- Keep equipment documentation accurate, tidy, and accessible.
- Prioritise work and make decisions when management isn’t around.
- Maintain stores, utilities, and environmental compliance.
What we need from you:
- Time/Skill-Served Fitter with 4+ years industrial experience.
- Mechanical/electrical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
- IT literate, decisive, and organised.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Initiative and the ability to turn chaos into order.
Bonus points:
- Experience in food processing or poultry machinery.
