A well established and progressive farming enterprise with multiple sites in Norfolk is looking for a skilled arable operator to join their team. The business manages a diverse mix of arable land, woodland, grazing and marshland, with a strong focus on high quality crop production and sustainable land management. Modern machinery, investment in storage and irrigation infrastructure, and a commitment to best practice underpin everything they do.
What You Will Be Doing
You will support year round arable operations across several blocks of land, working closely with the farm management team. This is a hands on role with seasonal peaks and a strong focus on attention to detail. Key duties include:Cultivation, drilling, fertiliser applications and cover-crop managementHarvest operations: combining, carting and trailer workMonitoring and managing grain and potato storesSupporting crop protection and stewardship schemes, including accurate record-keepingSetting up and maintaining irrigation equipmentGeneral estate work: hedges, fencing, gateways, tracks and drainageMachinery care: daily checks, routine maintenance and basic repairsTelehandler/forklift operations and occasional local deliveriesAdministration tasks such as job sheets, timesheets and field records
What You Need
Proven experience operating a range of agricultural machinery (tractors, drills, cultivators, sprayers, combines, telehandlers)Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to health and safetyAbility to carry out basic machinery maintenance and diagnosticsReliability, organisation and a professional, discreet approachFlexibility to work varying hours during busy periodsComfortable working both independently and as part of a small teamFull UK driving licence (trailer entitlement an advantage)Certificates/Tickets (or willingness to train):Telehandler and counterbalance forkliftPA1 & PA2 (spraying)Basic first aidAdditional qualifications such as PA4/PA6, FACTS/BASIS, abrasive wheels or B+E trailer entitlement are desirable but not essential.
