A well established, forward thinking farming enterprise with multiple sites across Norfolk is seeking a Skilled Arable Operator to join their team.
The business manages a diverse estate including arable land, woodland, grazing and marshland, with a clear commitment to high quality crop production and sustainable land management. Significant investment in modern machinery, storage facilities and irrigation systems underpins their approach, alongside a strong focus on best practice and continual improvement.
The Role
This is a hands on, year round position supporting arable operations across several blocks of land. Working closely with the farm management team, you will play a key role and contribute to the smooth running of the wider estate. Attention to detail, pride in your work and a proactive mindset are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
Cultivations, drilling, fertiliser applications and cover-crop management
Harvest operations including combining, carting and trailer work
Monitoring and managing grain and potato stores
Supporting crop protection and stewardship schemes, with accurate record-keeping
Setting up, operating and maintaining irrigation equipment
General estate work such as hedge cutting, fencing, gateways, tracks and drainage
Machinery care including daily checks, routine servicing and basic repairs
Telehandler and forklift operation, plus occasional local deliveries
Completing job sheets, timesheets and field records
What We Are Looking For
You will be an experienced agricultural operator with a practical, reliable approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
Essential skills and attributes include:
Proven experience operating a wide range of agricultural machinery (tractors, drills, cultivators, sprayers, combines, telehandlers)
Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude to health and safety
Ability to carry out basic machinery maintenance and fault finding
Organised, dependable and professional
Flexibility to work longer hours during busy seasonal periods
Full UK driving licence
Certificates and Training
The following are required or you should be willing to train:
Telehandler and counterbalance forklift
PA1 & PA2 (spraying)
Basic first aid
Additional tickets such as PA4/PA6, FACTS/BASIS, abrasive wheels or B+E trailer entitlement are desirable but not essential.
