You'll be leading technically complex projects, advising major infrastructure clients, managing risk, and delivering high-quality arboricultural consultancy across Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), Development Consent Orders (DCOs), and large-scale development schemes.

What will I be doing?

No two projects are the same, but your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading arboricultural surveys and delivering technically robust reports.
  • Managing arboricultural input across NSIP and DCO projects from inception through to delivery.
  • Producing Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA) and Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS).
  • Undertaking tree risk management inspections and providing pragmatic recommendations.
  • Carrying out veteran and ancient tree assessments and advising on appropriate management strategies.
  • Tracking multiple projects, managing programmes, and ensuring work is delivered on time and to budget.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Supporting junior consultants through mentoring, technical guidance and quality assurance.
  • Contributing to business development and strengthening long-term client relationships.

What do I need?

You'll already be an established arboricultural consultant with a strong technical background and the confidence to lead projects and engage directly with clients. You'll ideally have:

  • Extensive arboricultural consultancy experience.
  • Proven experience working on NSIP and DCO projects.
  • Strong knowledge of BS5837 and UK planning processes.
  • Experience producing AIAs, AMSs and tree survey reports.
  • A solid understanding of tree risk management principles.
  • Experience undertaking veteran and ancient tree appraisals.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience managing or mentoring teams.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Professional membership with the Arboricultural Association and relevant industry qualifications.

What's in it for me?

Alongside a competitive salary, you'll be joining a consultancy that values technical excellence, professional development and collaboration. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work on nationally significant and high-profile projects.
  • Influence project outcomes from an early stage.
  • Progress into a senior leadership position as the business continues to grow.
  • Access ongoing CPD and professional development.
  • Enjoy flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
  • Be part of a supportive, knowledgeable team where your expertise is recognised and valued.
