The Role

If you are interested in applying for this job, please make sure you meet the following requirements as listed below.

We're working with an established business in the agricultural sector that's looking for a commercially minded Cereals & Pulses Product Manager to help shape the future of its crop portfolio.

This is a varied role bringing together breeding, technical, production, sales and marketing teams to make sure varieties meet market needs and have a clear commercial purpose.

You'll take the lead on portfolio strategy, helping the business decide which varieties to prioritise, how to position them and where the biggest opportunities lie.

You'll use market insight, technical evidence and commercial performance to guide decisions and influence future product development.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing the cereals and pulses portfolio, identifying opportunities, gaps and future priorities.
  • Developing product plans and clear positioning for key varieties.
  • Working with breeding and technical teams to understand product performance and ensure claims are backed by evidence.
  • Supporting Sales and Marketing with product information, competitor insight and clear selling points.
  • Building relationships with growers, agronomists, distributors and end users to understand market needs.
  • Working across teams to influence product decisions, manage risks and keep plans on track.
  • Supporting forecasting and early-stage seed production planning.

About You

We're looking for someone who understands agriculture, enjoys looking at the bigger picture and can bring technical and commercial thinking together.

You don't need to be the biggest technical expert in the room, but you do need to be confident asking questions, challenging ideas and turning information into practical recommendations.

You'll ideally have

  • Experience in product management, agronomy, seeds, crop production, technical sales or agricultural marketing.
  • A good understanding of the UK arable sector, ideally cereals and pulses.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an analytical approach.
  • The ability to build relationships and influence people across different teams.
  • Good organisational skills and the confidence to make recommendations and see them through.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of an important crop portfolio and have a real say in its future direction.

You'll work closely with teams across the business, influence product development and help ensure varieties are positioned to meet the needs of farmers, customers and end users.

If you enjoy combining agricultural knowledge with commercial strategy and want a role where you can make a genuine difference, this could be well worth a conversation. xgikmsk
