Supplier Compliance Manager in Nuneaton

Are you a food Technical or Quality professional who enjoys working with suppliers, getting into the detail and making sure standards are consistently met?

We're working with an established food business that is looking for a Supplier Compliance Manager to join its Technical team. This is a broad role where you'll take ownership of supplier compliance across the UK and Europe, while working closely with suppliers, customers and internal teams.

It's an opportunity for someone with a strong technical background to move beyond purely internal factory compliance and have a real influence across a wider supply base.

What will you be doing?

You'll be responsible for making sure suppliers are operating to the standards expected by both the business and its retail customers. That means building strong supplier relationships, challenging where necessary and helping sites continually improve.

The role will involve:

• Visiting suppliers across the UK and Europe to carry out technical audits and follow through on any resulting actions
• Assessing supplier risk and helping shape the ongoing supplier approval and monitoring process
• Supporting suppliers through retailer approval requirements and preparing sites for customer audits and visits
• Working with suppliers on ethical compliance, including SEDEX
• Providing practical technical advice around food safety standards, retailer requirements and Codes of Practice
• Keeping up to date with changing retailer expectations and translating these into practical guidance for suppliers and colleagues
• Overseeing the internal audit programme
• Monitoring food fraud and incident information to identify trends and areas requiring attentionWorking with customer Technical teams to maintain strong working relationships
• Supporting specifications and pack copy through retailer systems
• Sharing your technical knowledge through training and guidance where required

You'll also be part of a collaborative Technical function, supporting wider departmental activity when workloads increase and helping the team maintain a high level of service to customers.

We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:

• Experience auditing food manufacturing sites
• A solid understanding of food safety, quality and retailer standards
• Good knowledge of factory environments and manufacturing processes
• Experience managing supplier relationships and corrective actions
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with different stakeholders
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• The confidence to work independently and manage a varied workload
• A willingness to travel throughout the UK and Europe
