About the Role

As Shop Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the indoor retail shop, leading a team of around 15 colleagues. You'll play a key role in shaping the customer experience through strong leadership and creative merchandising. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the daily operation of the retail shop floor and tills area
  • Leading, motivating, and developing the retail team
  • Managing product categories including garden sundries, décor, furniture, compost, giftware, and seasonal ranges
  • Taking ownership of product selection and buying decisions
  • Creating eye-catching, trend-led merchandising and seasonal displays
  • Driving sales performance and profitability across the department
  • Maintaining high standards of presentation and customer service
  • Managing staffing levels and supporting supervisors/buyers
  • Ensuring smooth operational standards across the department
  • Working closely with the wider management team to support business growth

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in a retail management, supervisory, or buying role within garden retail or a similar environment
  • Is a confident and motivating people leader

  • Has excellent merchandising and visual presentation skills
