Environment & Sustainability Technologist Kent Ready to turn sustainability strategy into real-world action? This is not a role where sustainability sits in a spreadsheet gathering dust. We're looking for an Environment & Sustainability Technologist to join the Technical team and take a leading role in driving environmental sustainability across a complex fresh produce business. You'll be the person connecting data, people, projects and strategy - helping turn carbon targets, environmental commitments and customer requirements into practical improvements across the business and supply chain. From Net Zero and Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions to water, biodiversity, packaging, food waste and resource efficiency, you'll have the opportunity to make a measurable difference. What will you be doing? Own the sustainability action plan - keeping targets, owners, milestones and actions moving in the right direction. Lead environmental reporting - collecting, validating and analysing Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and wider environmental data. Drive Net Zero activity - helping identify carbon hotspots and working with teams, growers and suppliers on reduction opportunities. Turn data into decisions - creating dashboards, reports and insight that highlight trends, risks and opportunities. Champion water, waste, packaging & biodiversity - coordinating projects that improve environmental performance across the business and supply chain. Keep ahead of compliance - monitoring legislation, customer requirements and emerging sustainability expectations. Be the sustainability connector - working with customers, suppliers, growers, internal teams and external partners to make things happen. Support ESG & customer reporting - preparing accurate submissions, evidence packs, questionnaires and audit information. Bring sustainability to life - developing communications, training and awareness initiatives that get people involved. Look for what's next - researching new technologies, better ways of working and opportunities to automate and improve sustainability data. What are we looking for? You'll be someone who enjoys getting into the detail but understands the bigger picture. You'll ideally bring: A strong understanding of environmental legislation, sustainability and ESG reporting. Working knowledge of carbon accounting, Scope 1, 2 & 3 and Net Zero programmes. Experience managing environmental/sustainability data and turning it into practical recommendations. Strong Excel and data analysis skills - dashboard or visualisation experience would be a bonus. The ability to coordinate projects and influence people without needing direct line-management responsibility. Experience with customer sustainability requirements, ESG reporting or assurance would be advantageous. An understanding of water, climate, biodiversity, packaging and waste risks within supply chains. Experience within fresh produce, agriculture, food manufacturing or a complex supply chain would be a big plus. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to present information to senior stakeholders. A highly organised approach - because there will be plenty of plates spinning! The flexibility to work with customers, suppliers and partners in the UK and overseas. Why this role? Because you won't just be reporting on sustainability. You'll be helping shape it. You'll have the opportunity to work across the business, influence environmental strategy, get involved in Net Zero and supply-chain projects, and see the tangible impact of the work you deliver. If you're a sustainability professional who wants ownership, variety and the chance to make a genuine difference, this could be your next move. Ready to make an impact? If you're interested in taking sustainability from strategy ? data ? action ? results, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now or get in touch for a confidential chat with Luan Harrison at MorePeople.
