Full time This is a good opportunity to take on a smaller garden centre with a well-established team and plenty of scope to push the site forward. The centre is due to receive further investment, so they're looking for someone who can come in, take ownership and help build on what's already there rather than rip everything up and start again. What you'll be doing: Leading a close-knit team across the centre and setting the standard day to day. Driving sales, KPIs and overall commercial performance across the site. Working closely with experienced supervisors and getting the best out of an established team. Managing staffing levels, rotas and day-to-day operational priorities. Maintaining strong standards across merchandising, availability, presentation and customer service. Monitoring stock levels, reducing wastage and making sure departments are commercially well run. Coaching and developing the team, setting clear expectations and dealing with performance where needed. Supporting seasonal changeovers and making sure the centre is well prepared for key trading periods. Keeping on top of health & safety, compliance and general site standards. Helping the centre make the most of future investment and identifying areas where sales and performance can be improved. What they're looking for: Ideally someone with garden retail experience, although strong retail management experience will also be considered. This could suit an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to step up into their first Garden Centre Manager role. Someone commercially minded who can bring energy, structure and accountability without upsetting a team that already knows the site well. A confident people manager who can earn respect quickly and lead from the front. Someone comfortable taking ownership of a whole site rather than focusing on one department. It's a smaller and steady centre, but there's a clear feeling that it can do more. For the right person, this is a chance to take on their own site, grow with the business and have a real impact on its next stage.
