We are recruiting a Technical Manager responsible for the Quality, Safety, Legality, and Integrity of crops supplied from grower farms and packing facilities to retail, B2B customers, and other outlets. This is a hands-on role requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with growers and packing site teams. You will support and develop the grower base while ensuring customer, retailer, and legislative compliance. The role is site based near Fife, with regular interaction across the grower and packing network.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all crops meet required quality, safety, legal, and customer standards
- Report and support resolution of QA or quality deviations
- Implement and maintain Technical and QA procedures across growers and packhouses
- Ensure full product traceability from field to customer
- Maintain documentation to support BRC, retailer, organic, and legislative compliance
- Monitor grower compliance and escalate issues where required
- Act as the main technical point of contact for growers and internal teams
- Support growers in meeting customer specifications
- Carry out grower and packing site visits and audits
- Assist with grower training and ongoing technical development
- Conduct internal audits against BRC and retailer standards
- Support sites through announced and unannounced audits
- Manage independent product testing programmes
- Complete and trend technical data to identify risks and improvements
- Work as part of the Technical Management team to resolve issues constructively
- Lead technical issues through to resolution
- Adapt to changing priorities and support wider business objectives
About You
- Experience in a Technical or Quality role within agriculture, horticulture, or a grower-led supply chain
- Confident working directly with growers and site teams
- Strong knowledge of QA systems, traceability, and retailer standards
- Experience supporting BRC audits
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable working independently
