About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Multiskilled Engineer. Working as part of the engineering team, you will play a key role in maintaining plant machinery, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement across site operations. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of performance, hygiene, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on plant machinery and equipment
  • Minimise downtime and support production to meet operational targets
  • Maintain site facilities and infrastructure to a high standard
  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors, ensuring compliance with site procedures (risk assessments, permits to work, etc.)
  • Prioritise workload to support production efficiency
  • Complete accurate daily maintenance records and documentation
  • Support production start-ups and provide engineering presence on shift
  • Identify and implement improvements to machinery, processes, and safety
  • Ensure all work meets food safety, quality, and hygiene standards
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in audit-ready condition

What We're Looking For

  • Multiskilled engineering experience (electrical and/or mechanical)
  • Background within food manufacturing or FMCG preferred
  • Experience with fault finding, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance systems
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Good communication skills to liaise across departments and with contractors
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
  • Understanding of health & safety standards and safe working practices

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours support
  • Assist with training and development of team members where required
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices
  • Provide shift handovers and communicate key issues effectively
