We're working with a long-standing, family-run horticultural business looking to appoint a Production Lead Grower to support their Nursery Operations Manager across propagation, potting and crop production.
What's the job?
You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the nursery, leading teams, maintaining plant quality, and ensuring production stays on track.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading propagation and potting teams
- Managing plant health, irrigation and crop quality
- Planning production schedules and stock requirements
- Running daily team briefings
- Overseeing potting machinery setup and troubleshooting
- Supporting pest and disease management programmes
- Driving high standards across the nursery
What do I need?
- Commercial growing experience within horticulture
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong plant health and irrigation knowledge
- PA1/PA6 spraying certificates
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Practical machinery and problem-solving ability
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership
