I am recruiting for a fresh produce business supplying high-quality fresh produce to major retailers across the UK. Working closely with a network of UK and international growers, they are committed to delivering safe, compliant and consistently high-quality produce.
The Role
My client is looking for a Technical Assistant to support their technical team, with a strong focus on supplier management and compliance. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in fresh produce technical, with exposure to both UK and global supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for suppliers on technical and compliance matters
- Maintain and review supplier documentation, including specifications, HACCP and audit reports
- Ensure all supplier information meets customer and legal requirements
- Support the approval and ongoing monitoring of suppliers
- Assist with due diligence, traceability and product integrity processes
- Work closely with growers and packhouses to resolve quality or compliance issues
- Support customer technical queries and retailer requirements where needed
- Maintain internal systems and databases with accurate, up-to-date information
About You
- Experience in a technical or quality role within fresh produce
- Understanding of food safety, fresh produce, quality systems and supplier assurance
- Confident communicating with fresh produce suppliers and building strong working relationships
