We're working with a well-respected garden centre group that's looking for a Department Supervisor to execute the running of its Sundries & Gardening department. About the role
You'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the Sundries & Gardening department. From supporting and motivating the team to maintaining retail standards, you'll help ensure the department is organised and delivers an excellent shopping experience.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the department
- Coaching and motivating the team to provide outstanding customer service
- Maintaining high standards of merchandising, stock presentation, and availability
- Helping to deliver sales targets and departmental KPIs
- Providing expert advice and guidance to customers on gardening products
- Supporting stock control, promotional activity, and seasonal changes across the department
The ideal candidate
- Previous supervisory experience within a retail environment
- A positive, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example
- A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service
- Good knowledge of gardening products, tools, compost, chemicals, or related sundries is desired
- Buying or stock management experience would be beneficial but isn't essential
