If you're a people manager who enjoys being out in the field, supporting teams and making sure high standards are delivered, this could be a role with real purpose. What can I expect? You'll support a team of around 30 gardeners and skilled maintenance staff, spread across the South East. Your job is to help them do their best work, develop their capabilities and maintain consistently high standards. This is a hands-on operational environment, but your focus will be on leading people, not doing the practical work yourself. You'll spend plenty of time travelling around the region, getting to know your teams, coaching managers and tackling challenges as they arise. You'll also help integrate volunteers into day-to-day operations, making sure everyone feels supported and understands what's expected of them. It's a newly created role, giving you the opportunity to provide more support on the ground and make a real difference to how the regional team operates. What experience do I need? As Deputy Regional Manager, you'll need strong people management experience, ideally leading teams spread across different locations. You'll be confident coaching others, setting clear expectations and handling the more difficult conversations when needed. A background in horticulture or grounds maintenance would be great, but it's not essential. Experience in landscaping, construction, facilities management or a similar operational environment could be just as relevant. What matters most is that you know how to bring people together, organise resources and maintain high standards across a dispersed workforce. Experience working with volunteers, contractors or other external partners would also be valuable. About the Company This established organisation operates across a large number of sites, with teams responsible for maintaining green spaces to a consistently high standard. Its work has a strong sense of purpose, and the people on the ground play a vital role in delivering it. It's an opportunity to join a team where commitment, respect and high standards matter, and where good leadership can make a real difference. What's in it for you? * Salary up to £42,000, depending on experience * Company van and credit card * 25 days' annual leave, rising to 30 with service * Pension scheme with employer contributions of up to 10% * Life assurance and Employee Assistance Programme * Cycle to Work and electric vehicle schemes, plus shopping discounts Interested in a role where good leadership can make a real difference?
