As Horticulture Production Manager, you'll sit within the senior leadership team, overseeing production, growing, operations, stock control and despatch across two sites, producing over 3 million pots annually. You'll report directly to the Managing Director, leading managers and supervisors across production and operations to ensure crops are produced to the highest standard and delivered efficiently to meet customer requirements. Day to day, you'll be: Leading production and growing teams across two nursery sites Managing operational managers, supervisors and support functions Driving crop quality, production efficiency and nursery performance Carrying out crop walks and supporting technical growing decisions Overseeing stock control and despatch performance Managing labour, budgets and resource planning Working with department managers to improve communication and operational efficiency Supporting capital investment projects, new systems and continuous improvement initiative. Ensuring compliance with accreditation schemes, health & safety requirements and business standards Using production software and data to support decision-making and performance improvement What do I need? Commercial nursery experience, whether that's in growing, operations or production. Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading managers, and supervisors Technical growing knowledge and understanding of commercial crop production Commercial awareness and budget management experience Confidence using data, Excel and production systems to drive decision-making Ability to balance people, production and performance Full UK driving licence You might already be a Production Manager, Nursery Manager or Operations Manager. Equally, you could be an ambitious Growing Manager looking for a broader leadership role.
