A commercial soft fruit business is looking for a hands-on Grower Assistant to support day-to-day crop production across strawberries, raspberries and blueberries grown under glass and polytunnel. This is not a management role. It is a practical position working closely with the Farm Manager, supporting the growing operation and learning the technical side of soft fruit production.
The role will involve:
- Day-to-day crop husbandry and plant care
- Monitoring crop health and soil moisture
- Assisting with irrigation and feeding programmes
- Mixing and applying pest and disease treatments (if qualified)
- Crop walks, reporting issues and maintaining high standards
- Weekend work as part of a rota during peak periods
What we are looking for:
