What's the job?

This is a highly detail-oriented role focused on coordinating plant material from multiple nurseries and ensuring quality, timing, and specification standards are consistently met. You'll act as the link between nurseries and internal production teams, managing logistics, monitoring plant health, and supporting decision making through accurate data and reporting.

Day to day, you'll be:

  • Preparing and maintaining detailed plant allocation files by variety, type, and nursery
  • Coordinating plant logistics from multiple nurseries into global production sites
  • Monitoring plant quality and ensuring minimum specifications are consistently met
  • Liaising with nurseries, agronomists, and internal stakeholders on plant availability and risks
  • Coordinating disease sampling and working alongside plant pathology specialists
  • Reviewing and managing quality control reports from nurseries
  • Producing reports on plant quality, including any issues on arrival across production regions
  • Visiting nurseries to assess crops, identify risks, and report findings
  • Supporting trial managers to ensure trial material is delivered on time
  • Monitoring cold storage processes and evaluating plant condition post-storage

This role will involve a combination of office-based work and regular travel to nursery sites, particularly across the Netherlands, as well as the UK and parts of Europe.

What do I need?

  • Degree in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of plant production, nursery systems, or crop quality
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively
  • Excellent organisational and data management skills
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and countries
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel internationally
