Location: Market Harborough | Full-time | Hybrid Working
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Rural Surveyor to join a progressive and forward-thinking rural consultancy, working with a diverse portfolio of landowning clients across the East Midlands & East Anglia.
This is a varied role combining traditional rural property management and professional consultancy with the growing Natural Capital and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) sectors. You will work closely with landowners, farmers and rural businesses, providing strategic advice to help them maximise the potential of their estates and identify new opportunities for growth and income generation.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing and developing existing rural estate management portfolios across the East Midlands.
Providing professional advice on lease renewals, rent reviews, landlord and tenant matters, and wider rural property management.
Supporting clients with strategic estate planning, income and expenditure management, capital expenditure projects and budgeting.
Building strong relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities to develop new business.
Advising landowners and farmers on Natural Capital opportunities, including BNG, and how these can complement existing land use and business models.
Supporting organisations and individuals in achieving their environmental and ESG objectives.
Contributing to the continued development of the wider rural consultancy team and its client offering.
About You
You will be an ambitious and commercially minded rural property professional who enjoys building relationships, delivering practical advice and identifying opportunities to add value for clients.
You will ideally have:
MRICS qualification, with a background in Rural Surveying and/or Natural Capital.
Experience in rural property management, estate consultancy or a related professional practice environment.
An understanding of Natural Capital and BNG, with an interest in helping landowners explore emerging opportunities within this sector.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
The ability to manage your own workload, use your initiative and take ownership of projects and client relationships.
A proactive, forward-thinking approach and the ambition to contribute to the growth of a successful team.
A full UK driving licence and confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established rural consultancy with a strong reputation in the property and land sector, offering the chance to develop your career across both traditional rural surveying and the increasingly important Natural Capital market.
Based in Market Harborough, you will become part of a collaborative and energetic East Midlands team, with exposure to a varied client base and the opportunity to take ownership of your work, strengthen client relationships and contribute to the development of the wider business.
The role offers a competitive salary, alongside an attractive benefits package including:
Discretionary bonus scheme.
25 days' annual leave, increasing to 30 days with service, plus your birthday off and additional festive-period leave.
Enhanced family leave policies.
Death in service cover and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
Two days of paid volunteering leave per year.
Access to an online money-saving benefits portal.
Hybrid working to support a flexible and balanced approach to your working week.
You will be joining a business that combines a long-established presence in the rural property sector with a progressive approach to modern consultancy, environmental opportunities and professional development.
