What can I expect?

As Sales Administrator, you'll work closely with the Sales Manager, who spends most of their time out visiting garden centres and building relationships. They'll look after the selling bit - they just need someone equally good to support on making sure everything happens behind the scenes.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Processing and collating customer orders
  • Sending order confirmations and invoices
  • Chasing payments
  • Dealing with customer queries over the phone and email
  • Keeping the Sales Manager organised and making sure nothing gets missed
  • Supporting customers with the wider product range
  • Using Xero and other systems to keep everything up to date

There’s a little more to it than traditional sales admin, too. As you get to know the products and customers, you’ll be encouraged to spot opportunities to introduce customers to other products across the range.

What experience do I need?

We’re fairly open-minded on background. Experience in horticulture, plants or garden centres would be useful, but it’s not essential. What’s much more important is that you’re:

  • Highly organised and good at managing lots of moving parts
  • Comfortable with sales administration and order processing
  • Confident speaking to customers on the phone
  • IT literate and happy picking up new systems
  • Experienced with Xero, or able to learn it quickly
  • Detail-focused and commercially aware
  • Someone who takes ownership and gets things done

You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, as the role is remote. You don’t need to know everything there is to know about plants on day one, that’s something you can learn. Being organised, proactive and good with people is key.

The Company

They’re a close knit team based across multiple locations, but they’re well versed in keeping in touch and working together to achieve success - something they’ve enjoyed plenty of over the years! They have a good reputation and don’t often need to recruit because people tend to join and then stay. This role is new, so you’ve got the chance to really make it your own!

If you’re the organised person who naturally spots what needs doing, enjoys working with customers and likes the idea of joining something that’s still being built, this could be just what you’ve been looking for.

Call Lucy on (phone number removed) or email if you’d like to chat about any of the above before applying.
