HYGIENE MANAGER - Days Love high standards? Spot the detail others miss? Ready to make hygiene a business-wide priority? We're looking for a Hygiene Manager to join a well-established, fresh produce business in the heart of Lancashire. This is more than just keeping things clean. You'll take ownership of the hygiene management system, drive standards across the business and work closely with teams across the site to build a culture where hygiene, food safety and H&S are simply part of the way we work. THE BUSINESS Established in 1942, this family-owned fresh produce business specialises in growing, packing and distributing a range of root vegetables. With customers ranging from major UK supermarkets to independent retailers, wholesalers, foodservice and food manufacturers, quality and standards are at the heart of everything they do. Now they're looking for someone who can help take those standards even further. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective hygiene management system across the business, including: Leading and developing the hygiene strategy across all divisions Supporting and preparing for external audits Carrying out audits, inspections, risk assessments and surveys Monitoring hygiene KPIs and using data to identify opportunities for improvement Working with external contractors and ensuring planned activities are completed Evaluating working practices, procedures and facilities against hygiene and H&S requirements Developing and implementing policies and procedures Using analytics, cultural and behavioural trends to drive improvements Working collaboratively with different departments to embed a strong hygiene culture Helping reduce H&S incidents and proactively identifying potential risks Providing advice and guidance to colleagues on hygiene and H&S matters Ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? You will have experience in a Hygiene, Health & Safety, Quality or similar compliance-focused role, within a food or fresh produce business Conducting audits and risk assessments Developing safe systems of work Advising colleagues on H&S issues Working with legislation and compliance requirements Identifying, escalating and resolving issues Using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint You'll also need a full UK driving licence. THE PERSON We're looking for someone who is: Organised. Observant. Reliable. Proactive. Someone who notices the small things, isn't afraid to challenge when standards aren't being met and has the communication skills to bring people with them.
