We’re looking for a Shift Engineer to support a fast‑paced production environment, keeping equipment running, diagnosing faults quickly, and ensuring downtime stays elsewhere. You’ll be part of a hands‑on engineering team responsible for reactive and planned maintenance across a busy site where things move quickly and break occasionally at inconvenient times.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responding to breakdowns and restoring equipment safely and efficiently
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance tasks
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
- Supporting continuous production by reducing downtime and repeat failures
- Working safely and effectively across rotating day and night shifts
- Recording maintenance activity and supporting CMMS systems
- Contributing to improvement activity and reliability initiatives
- Working closely with production to resolve issues at root‑cause level
What we’re looking for:
- Engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent experience)
- Strong background in maintenance within manufacturing or FMCG environments
- Confident fault‑finding across mechanical and electrical systems
- Good understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial equipment
- Experience with planned maintenance systems and reactive breakdown work
- Ability to work independently during night shifts without things going sideways
