Do you have a passion for fresh produce, food safety, supplier assurance, and making a real impact across a global supply chain? Are you a detail-driven technical professional with experience in fresh produce? I'm looking for a Technical Manager to join a dynamic, forward-thinking business at the forefront of the fresh produce industry. You'll work across a global supply base to manage supplier due diligence, pesticide and residue programmes, and ensure industry-leading compliance with customer and retailer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier due diligence across a global supply base in line with customer expectations
  • Oversee web-based platforms including Muddy Boots, Food Experts, and customer portals
  • Implement and monitor the residue testing programme; investigate pesticide issues as needed
  • Lead supplier auditing programmes (ethical and food safety) and conduct Select Farm audits
  • Support the development and implementation of food safety procedures across the supply base
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with global suppliers, focusing on continuous improvement, NPD, and variety development
  • Develop and monitor supplier scorecards; work with PAS suppliers to align with retailer benchmarks
  • Stay informed and communicate updates on regulations related to residues, pesticides, and environmental compliance
  • Represent the business at industry meetings (e.g. FPC, JS Crop Action)
  • Manage pesticide approvals through Food Experts, Audax, GLSA, and retailer-specific systems
  • Support customer visits and internal stakeholder engagement
  • Drive the environmental strategy across the supply base through data capture and analysis

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of 5 years' technical experience within fresh produce or agri-food supply chains
  • Degree-qualified in Food Science, Agri-Food, or related discipline ideally
  • Proactive and detail-focused individual with strong leadership capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT competency, including use of supply chain platforms and Microsoft Office
