I'm currently partnering with a leading, high-volume food manufacturing operation in Poole that's looking for a skilled and motivated Shift Technician to join their team on a 3 on, 2 off days & nights pattern. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-moving production environment where quality, reliability, and engineering excellence go hand in hand. If you enjoy the challenge of keeping complex production lines running smoothly and take pride in well-maintained equipment, this could be your ideal next step.
What's the Role?
As a Shift Technician, you'll play a key role in keeping the site operating at full capacity across both day and night shifts. From reacting quickly to breakdowns, to carrying out preventative maintenance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, you'll be central to site performance and uptime.
Your Day-to-Day Will Involve:
- Rapidly responding to equipment faults and breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to a high standard
- Supporting both high-care and low-care production areas, including mixers, conveyors, ovens, and packaging lines
- Getting involved in improvement and reliability projects to boost efficiency and reduce repeat issues
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and Health & Safety standards
- Working closely with Production, Technical, and HSE teams to maintain smooth operations
What We're Looking For:
- A time-served engineer with 3+ years' post-apprenticeship experience
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar fast-paced production environment
- Engineering qualifications such as ONC / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- A calm, proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively across both day and night shifts
If you're an engineer who enjoys keeping things running, thrives in a high-volume manufacturing environment, and is comfortable working a rotating days and nights shift pattern, this is a great opportunity to join a well-established and professional operation.
