An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Gardener to join a well‑established garden design, build and maintenance company delivering high‑quality garden care across South West London. This role is ideal for a knowledgeable, hands‑on gardener who takes pride in their work and enjoys maintaining gardens to an exceptional standard. You'll work across a varied portfolio of residential gardens, leading small teams on site and taking responsibility for daily maintenance, presentation, and client satisfaction. This is a senior maintenance role for someone confident in practical horticulture, seasonal planning, and soft landscaping works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out high‑quality garden maintenance across a range of residential and commercial properties
  • Lead and support a Gardener, working typically in teams of two
  • Maintain up to three gardens per day to a consistently high standard
  • Undertake all core horticultural tasks including pruning, lawn care, plant care, and border maintenance
  • Operate and maintain power tools safely, including strimmers, hedge cutters, mowers, and blowers
  • Identify pests, diseases, and plant health issues, implementing appropriate treatments
  • Implement soft landscaping schemes as required
  • Communicate professionally with clients, providing a reliable and friendly service
  • Take pride in presentation, organisation, and ownership of assigned gardens

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in practical amenity horticulture
  • Strong horticultural knowledge across plants, pruning, lawn care, and seasonal tasks
  • Experience leading or mentoring others within a gardening or maintenance setting
  • Confident using all standard gardening tools and equipment
  • Able to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment
  • Well‑presented, punctual, and professional at all times
  • Formal horticultural qualifications are an advantage but not essential
  • Good communication skills and a positive, flexible attitude
  • Full UK driving licence required
